Hubby going on a BT

Yesterday, hubby's business trip was confirmed. When he first told me that he might going on a business trip for a couple of days (his boss was so nice, telling him to discuss with me first), me being a noble-wife-of-the-year told him boldly "Go, I can handle the fort. No problemo" A minute later after I thought about it, I felt so stupid. I should have played the guilty card. So he would compell to bribe me in order to let him go. I mean, even though granted it is a business trip, a trip is still a trip and he is still leaving me, poor wifey slaving at home.

So I played the guilty card while preparing "the list". You know what-can-hubby-buy-to-make-wife-at-home-happy kind of list. Turns out the business trip is so short! He partically have no time to shop beside after office hour (whaaat?!! Don't you know how long my list is? ***tearing and stomping the list angrily***)

As his departure was drawing close second by second *dramatic* i started to regret my decision to let him go *me and my big mouth* What if baby fussy during the night and i don't have enough energy to handle him? Am i biting more than I can chew?

But it's all too late now. He is flying and nothing i can do but to pray for his safety and everything to be okay at home while he is probably shouting on the top of his lungs "Xiang Kang wo lai le...!!!!" during touchdown.

Friday Dinner Date: Hot Tomato

Once per week, we try to have a dinner date, with official reason is to keep the love flame on *blush*. Actually, the real reasons are 1) to feed my hunger for good food and 2) I'm too lazy to cook that day.
On our last dinner date, we went to Hot Tomato at Nex Serangoon. We've been there a couple of times and that place kind of become where we go to when we want something nice and fast and not so expensive.

As usual, I ordered Salmon Mango Salsa (S$13.90, if I remember correctly) for "little boss" inside my tummy. Honestly, this is not my favorite dish but I ordered it nonetheless. Don't get me wrong, it was a yummy dish, but personally I prefer steak :P

The only complaint for the dish is the inconsistency of the aglio olio pasta. During the last visit, it was too garlicky and this time the lemon sauce was poured on top of it, I can't barely taste the garlic. And oh, the pasta was too soft not al dente anymore.

Garlic Seafood Linguine was the choice of my husband. When the dish came, I was shocked with its generous portion. I mean look at that...isn't generous for S$ 9.90?
My hubby didn't complaint much, except for the prawn which he felt not so fresh.

And since I managed to persuade my husband to get the set meal (add S$ 3.50 for soup of the day and drink), I can order the cake of the day for only S$ 2.50. I have to tell you, I love their chocolate cake of the day. In fact, I ate it with such gusto and most probably embarrassing my husband, that prompted the couple sitting next to us ordered the same thing (Hot Tomato should give me discount for helping them selling the cake :P)

The cake consists of 2 layers. The first one is melting-in-your-mouth-chocolatey and the second layer is a mix between crackers and chocolate I guess. The taste is heavenly! I wish I could eat the whole cake not only a slice.

In conclusion, we recommend Hot Tomato for casual dinning. The food quality is nice and the price is right. And do try the chocolate cake of the day!

Shiseido Warehouse Sale

Last month, I went to the Shiseido Warehouse sale. The sale was only for 2 days.
I went on the second day as I was unable to go on the first day due to attending the webinar.
Even though, I prepared the list of things I needed to buy so I wouldn't go astray, the outcome was as expected, I couldn't stick to my list :P

The event took place on Shiseido Head Office (I guess) at Orchard Building 12th Floor.
I arrived around 11am and even though it's not so crazily crowded, it's hard for me to go near to the desk where the products were displayed.
Because I'm heavily pregnant, I opted to wait patiently until one of the girl satisfied and leave the table and then I swooped in and took her place. But I was the only few people to do that.
When I was looking at the eyeshadow, suddenly there was an arm reaching out from behind me to get the product and trying to force its owner's way in to the table. I turned around and lo and behold, the owner was another pregnant lady with belly bigger than me. *** bow to her high spirit ***

The sale was good, most of the product's price was slashed into a third of the usual price.
Btw, my hubby told me that my makeup budget is already maxed out for the next 5 years **hiks so cruel**
Here's what I've got:

Soft make up bag S$3, White Lucent Skin Care, 3 ZA Lipsticks (3 for S$12)(L-R: 002, OR1, 009), 3 Ettusais Blushes, 3 Maquillage Eyeshadow, 1 Maquillage Cream Eyeshadow.

Ettusais blushes S$10.
L-R: OR1 (matte), PK3 (shimmery), RD1 (shimmery)

Maquillage Eyeshadows S$8 and Duo Cream Eyeshadows S$15 (GR273)

White Lucent Skin Care S$15

I also got the hard-case makeup bag for S$3 which was a very good deal, but is not photographed yet. I have to nag my husband again to do it.
I wanted to get the Shiseido sunblock, but apparently it's already sold out. In fact the SA told me that most of the items are sold out during the first day ***sob sob sob***
Lesson to be learned, come on the first day during the warehouse sale!

Online Shopping: Tara Shop

Can be said that I am a newbie in online shopping.
I know I know, I'm so old fashioned. But I don't know, I guess I enjoy going to the pretty store and do the shopping the old way. Feel the 'rush' after deciding to buy something and pay that in the cashier hehehe..

Anyway, since there are things that I want for quite some time and sadly, those items are not available on where I live, I have to retort to the online shopping. Well, I have to admit, online shopping has different kind of rush. The rush for me is when I open a mailbox and there it is. The package has arrived. Yay! It's like present from Santa Claus, except I'm paying for this present :P

The first online shopper I tried was Tara Shop  (http://www.tara-shop.com). I read good reviews about them in the CozyCot forum, so I decided to give it a try.
Since this was only a try out, and also since I splurged so much during Shiseido warehouse sale, I only ordered 1 item which was the ELF blending brush.

Upon order confirmation, I received email notification and inside there was a link for me to do the payment. I received another notification, updating me that the items had been processed and the last notification came informed me that the had been shipped. What amazed me was that all these emails came in 1 day. Yes, 1 day.
The next day, I received the package. I am super impressed with the speed and I'm not even using registered mail option. I chose the normal postage which is free.

The brush was wrapped in bubble wrap and brown envelope. All in great condition.
I'm definitely, going back to Tara Shop to shop some more **I think I can hear my hubby screaming from a far "oh nooo"***

Swatches: L’Oreal La Couleur Infallible Eyeshadows

It's been a while since I go to Watson or Guardian. When I went there yesterday, I was pleasantly surprise to find new single eyeshadows from L'oreal. I think it is called L’Oreal La Couleur Infallible Eyeshadows and they are released alongside a limited edition Colour Riche Gold collection (the one with Fan Bing Bing in the ads)

The texture of these eyeshadows are very velvety and smooth. I think they are more like a in loose eyeshadow/pigment blend together with cream eyeshadows (if I'm making any sense here :p)
All of them are incredibly pigmented.
Below is the swatches all 5 of them:

I think my faves are the Sahara Treasure and Black Onyx

I would like to bring those babies home, but since my last unexpected splurge during Shiseido warehouse sale, I feel too guilty to buy anymore makeup.

They are priced at S$14.90 / 3.5gr

Friday Dinner Date: Suki Sushi

For our last Friday Dinner Date, we went to Suki Sushi at Singapore Post building. It's been a while since this pregnant lady aka moi dares to go to Japanese Restaurant that has the sushi bar. The reason is simple, I love sushi, especially salmon sashimi and being pregnant means I have to avoid those raw foods that I absolutely love and you know I have very little self control **blush blush**

Anyway, below is what we ordered
Appetizer: Bacon Roll Enoki (S$4.90)

We likey... the bacon was not too salty and we can smell the smoke since this is like a kebab.

Main Course: Hamburg Omelet Rice (S$ 7.90)

This was only okay-ish. The sauce was a bit to sweet for me, and while the omelet was very nice and fluffy, there was nothing but rice wrapped under that omelet. I was hoping this to be kind of omurice with tomato sauce and mushroom or something like that, so I was a bit disappointed.

Sushi: Dragon Roll (S$8.90)
Finally, I can eat sushi again for the second time after 8 months. Oh the thirst and hunger!! and this baby is not a disappointment. The prawn was crunchy but soft and sweet. The sushi rice was not too sour, and with avocado and Japanese Mayo on top the result is Perfecto!

Verdict: Not bad! Except the omelet rice, we're both quite satisfied with the food.
Recommended to other: Yes
Will we be back: Yes, ordering more sushi I guess.

Product Reviews: The Body Shop Facial Buffer

TBS offers 2 types of facial buffer (sorry couldn't find the picture), and the one below (that I bought) is the softer one. I bought this product impulsively (like most of the things I bought **chuckle**)

They claim:
A gentle exfoliating sponge to polish your skin, whilst cleansing, leaving it feeling refreshed and looking radiant. Use daily for a gentle skin boost. Particularly good for use on dry skin that needs to be exfoliated regularly, it leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth.

How to use:
Use daily in circular motion with your favourite The Body Shop facial wash or soap to cleanse and gently exfoliate. Dampen before use.

Price: SGD 4.90

My impression:
- It's a bit too rough on my skin, especially the sensitive area like under the nose, under the eye etc. I felt like being scratch even when I used it on my forehead twice on the same spot.
- Definitely I will not use it on daily basis. (FYI: my skin is oily combination). Probably every 3-4 weeks when I need a deep cleanse.
- The product does it job, I can feel my skin is smoother and clean after use. I like that my white heads/black heads/comedoes (you named it) on my nose are mostly gone. Normally, when I use a facial scrub I still need to use a tool to force them to come out.
- I prefer this instead of facial brush since the brush hair sometime poke my nose (gross I know) and it hurts

Recommended to others: Yes, if you don't have sensitive skin and need a good exfoliator.

Repurchase: Probably since the price is not so bad.
