Info: What to do if you have different names?

I hope this information is useful.

Recently I found out that my mother's name stated in my birth certificate was different with the one stated in my mother's passport. How the hell did it happen? Please don't ask me, I was just a cute baby when my birth certificate was made hehehe. And don't get me started on the family card. It's a mess.

To be honest, I never have any problem with this, I didn't even realize that the names were different. Nobody does. However this became a problem when I wanted to apply for 90 days extension for my mom. The immigration officer said that since the names were different it could be two totally different person! Then I was suggested to go the embassy and make an official latter stating that these two names were actually belong to the same person.

So, this morning I finally went to the embassy. I went to the second floor and went inside the 'KEKONSULERAN' (if I'm not wrong) room. I explained my problem to the girls there and she asked me to fill out 2 forms:
  1. the first form was for the data/information I wish to state/change
  2. the second form was for my personal information and explaining my request.
I filled out those forms, submitted it back and I waited outside the room.
Oh I also was asked to buy the stamp (2 SGD) and I also submitted 3 documents as supporting evidence: my birth certificate, my mother's passport and her SBKRI.

Not for long, my name was called and I was asked to submit my mother's birth certificate. I suddenly think "Oh no!!! another problem again!!! my mother doesn't have birth certificate". Since I was really desperate, I just admitted it honestly that my mother doesn't and never have birth certificate.  She was born in 1950 in a small/remote village only 5 years after Indonesia's independence for God's sake.

Finally they accept my explanation and told me to come back the day after tomorrow to collect the document around 14:30 -17:00. I was so happy! The service was good and fast. I love it. Salute for KBRI Singapore.

Important points:
  • Go to second floor. The first floor is mainly for immigration services.
  • You have to submit 3 supporting documents for your claim. Passport is a must! Since you have to submit your ID in the front entrance please make sure you bring another ID (KTP or SIM) to submit instead of your passport.
  • The fee is 32 SGD + 2 SGD for stamp. I believe they only accept CASH, no NETS or CC.
  • I don't think the website is having the latest update, but starting from 1 January 2010 the submission hour is: 09:30 - 12:30 (not 13:00 as stated in the website) and collection hour: 14:30-17:00
  • No flip-flop, tank top, and bermuda please. It was stated in the front entrance door. I don't know whether they really strict with this rule but no harm in wearing a semi-formal clothes rite?

Rotten Tomatoes, Walking With Series & Dirty Jobs

Sigh...
It's been too long since I've updated this blog. Kecian bener nih blog.
The reason is simple. I don't know what to write...
No "blog worthy" events happened lately, but today I'm trying to write something that hopefully worthy enough for you.

1. rotten tomatoes.
Has anybody ever heard about this website? Well, I knew this website for quite sometime but rarely visit it. Within this site you can find movie critics and review and the good news is (for me at least) that "ehm...ehm.. kyknya selera kita sama bokkk!" Based on the statistic 64.5% of my fave movies are Certified Fresh, 12.9% are Fresh and only 22.6% are Rotten (only??? hahaha)

Duh biasanya dulu di kost pasti d selera film gue paling beda sendirian. I've always been "the geek". So, I'm very very excited ternyata gue tidak sendirian hohoho!

2. Walking with Series
Nyambung soal ke-geek-an soal selera film, belum lama ini secara tidak sengaja turn-on the national geographic channel and ntn "Walking with Monster" yang ternyata merupakan bagian dari "Walking with..." series and I've been obsessed with it after since!

Walaupun my hubby ngorok dengan damainya pas ntn film ini, tapi buat gue ini film TOP BGT untuk memuaskan ke-geek-an gue. Jadi selesai ntn sibuklah cari2 di internet buat filmnya dan ternyata ada di youtube (dooh I'm so happy)

The complete list of Walking with... series are (based on movie chronology):
1. Walking with Monsters
2. Walking with Dinosaurs
3. Walking with Beasts
4. Walking with Cavemen

and I watched all of them. Even though the special effect is not extra-ordinary, but I don't care. I love the knowledge I gained after watching it and knowing how stupid I was before.

3. I love Peter Schmeichel and I'm so excited to see his series called "Dirty Jobs". In this series he's doing all of the dirty job including peeling off cow's head skin, cleaning up the pig's "house" etc, etc. I know it's gross but believe me after watching it, you'll appreciate your job better (temporarily perhaps but still you will, trust moi)

oh before I forget, 24 just kicked of a new season (season 8). Can't wait to see Mr. Bauer in action ;)

H1N1 at Singapore

Experts warn that outbreak is only at an early stage

A SCIENTIFIC committee tasked with examining data on H1N1 flu patients here is agreed on one thing: Things are going to get much worse.

And going by the latest numbers released last night, Singapore's H1N1 curve is heading up rapidly, with 95 new patients, the highest number so far. This brings the total to 315.

Nightspot Butter Factory had 10 more staff and patrons down with the flu, making it the biggest cluster of infections, with 21 cases so far. The Health Ministry said last night it had yet to complete investigating how 48 of the 95 new cases caught the bug.

The sharp increase appears to confirm the conclusions of the team headed by the Health Ministry's director of medical services K. Satku that Singapore is 'past the tipping point'.

Signs are that the flu season, which should have been tapering off around this time of year, will return with a vengeance. And over recent days, more flu cases have been of the H1N1 variety.

This happened in the United States too. Its flu season should have ended, except for H1N1 fuelling a drastic spike in the number of flu patients, now in the thousands, with deaths occurring regularly.

Doctors on the panel yesterday made it clear that Singapore was not over-reacting in its response to the pandemic, even though H1N1 has proven mild so far.

The big question now is, what happens when the numbers surge? Said Dr Lim Poh Lian, a senior consultant at the Communicable Disease Centre (CDC): 'When the numbers go into the thousands, we will see people coming down sick, who might need ventilator support and who might die.'

A reason for caution: Doctors and scientists have had only two months to examine the nature of H1N1, and while the Genome Institute of Singapore found that it has mutated only slightly, there is no telling how much it will change. Said Dr Lyn James, the ministry's director of communicable diseases: 'It is wiser not to underestimate the virus, because we are still in the early stages of the outbreak.'

Doctors have so far only examined about 200 patients, mainly young and healthy travellers. Once H1N1 circulates freely, it will also infect the elderly, pregnant women and others with various health problems. Said Prof Satku: 'We must remember that we have vulnerable individuals who have a higher risk of flu complications.

'Let's look after them too, by ensuring that we do not inadvertently expose them to infection.'

CDC head Dr Leo Yee Sin said she is worried because the population mix is different from the H1N1 patients seen so far.

'I worry about how it will affect this group of older folks and immuno-compromised patients,' she said.

My fufu is crashed! Attention to all AVG user!

Well, Thanks to AVG my laptop is now crashing...
This is the sad story....

PS: I named my laptop fufu short from fujitsu

Saturday night, 2 days ago, I watched episode 11 of The Desperate Housewives. Yes I know, I'm 2 episodes left behind, that's why I was very excited to watch it. FYI, I don't like to be interrupted while I am watching movies. I usually ignore the interruption or snap at it.

There were two interruptions that night. One is my mother's questions (Dont ask me, forget the questions already), and the second one is from AVG. My anti virus kept popping the error message saying that my laptop got infected by some kind of virus. Since I can not and dare not to ignore or snap at the first interruption, I pay less attention to the second one. First I set the AVG to heal the infected object, but then it showed me another message saying the object can not be healed. Then I set the AVG to move the object to the vault, but then another message displayed.
Irritated, I ticked the option to remove the object using power user. That's my friend, my biggest mistake!! Because, after my laptop was restarted, I couldnot login into it. The laptop kept logging me off automatically.
Never ever ticked to remove the object using power user. Apparently, AVG made a mistake by recognising some windows file as viruses.
Read the news here:
http://tekno.kompas.com/read/xml/2008/11/13/09260929/antivirus.avg.bikin.crash.

The vendor even apoligize (http://tekno.kompas.com/read/xml/2008/11/17/10182272/Vendor.Sekuriti.AVG.Minta.Maaf.)

Until now I haven't solved this problem, but I already begged my sweet dearest fiance to come and fix it tonight. Well, cross my finger and hoping for the best.
I'll update with the solution later.

The luxury of my life

Okay, I admit, I steal that phrase from my friends' wedding website (http://www.mywedding.com/ayunkyayastory/index.html).
Yup, two of my friends are getting married.
I've known then since college, and they've been dating not so long after.
I'm really happy for both of them, as the groom, any fool can see how he loves her so much. this must be like a dream come true for him and as for the bride it must be fantastic to be loved that way.
So Yachu and Ayung,
here is a toast for you..
Wishing you a happily ever after.

cheers...

Joey's Bag all over Singapore

It could be a trend, but lately I encounter a lot of Joey's bag in the MRT and yes it was carried by MAN. It's so ironic, considering Joey was mocked by all of his friend especially Chandler and Ross. He also lost a part in a play because of the bag, and now several years later the bag has become a trend. The PIC who came up with this idea is must be a witch cause he/she can predict the future!

Wondering when will my fiance get one, I love to dump all my heavy things into his Joey's Bag.

Poor Dogs...

Well, since I (still) have nothing to do here, I live my day with browsing.
Just found this article at Kompas.com about wild dogs in Bandung and Bali being hunted and injected to die. The reason is because wild dogs can transmit rabies easily since the cops have found several dogs infected with rabies.
Uninfected dogs will also be killed. Duuuuuuuuhhhhh......

I am not a fan of dogs in general, but this is just sadness not to mention cruel.

Going to Johor Bahru as first timer

Yesterday, marley and me.. no no my fiance and me went to Johor Bahru to renew his SVP. Thanks God (yes folks, I give thank now and then) that everything went smoothly.
The trip was also okay, not like what I imagined with all the horrible news about the new check point. No traffic jam at all and the bus queue was not long.

To sum it up:
1. Alight at kranji MRT station and go to the bus station OPPOSITE the mrt station.
2. Wait for bus no 170 or 160.
3. Alight at Woodland Checkpoint
4. Queue (short)
5. Go to the bus station inside the check point and wait for bus no 170 or 160 again
6. Alight at CIQ
7. Another queue. This one was very long aarrghh...Oops almost forget, grab the white paper and fill in the form. I will suggest to the traveler to bring your own pen, so you can fill in the form while queuing. Use another person back as 'alas nulis' if he/she doesn't mind. Just joking
8. Voila, arrive already. There is a mall, call City Square that's linked with the checkpoint building. Just follow the information, you'll get there. PS: the map directory for that mall is confusing.
9. Eat Portuguese Chicken and Egg Tart, Trying to find a cute, cheap, short heel sandal at Padini (not successful although they're having end year clearance I think, Ladies or shoe lovers you should go), Watch Australia (boring...but Mr. Jackman handsome as always), buy cigarettes, bath soap (arrghh so cheap) and Shi Lin (taiwan snack)
10. Back to CIQ and queue again (short one)
11. Took bus 170
12. Alight at Woodland check point and another queue (short one also)
13. Took SMRT bus 950
14. Alight at kranji station and headed home.

Making a Leap

Last Friday, I submitted my resignation letter, and after being postponed by my manager (collaborated with my division manager), my manager finally has given up and wished me for the best.
I haven't met my division manager yet, the truth is I'm avoiding her.. ppsstttt...
Worrying that I'll change my mind because of her persuasion (with deadly force of course kekekek).
I even haven't told my successor to be about it. I'm afraid that she would tell her boss (definitely) and then her boss would tell Ibu and mbak Tini. *bakal mati kutu*

Now I feel a bit relieve but not fully, thanks to my manager who assured me that my exit interview will be done by Babeh SEF. Duhh I'll be dead for sure.
Cross my finger and pray so he will be very-very super duper busy after he gets back from Amrik.

The truth is, it was filled with mixed emotion and a lot of consideration before I took a step to my manager desk and informed him that I want to resign from this company. But I thought that this is it. This is the time to make a leap. Now that everything is falling into its place, my outstanding projects are closing down, my projects are never been this few, and also my marriage preparation is almost finish. The only bad timing is the damn crisis.

Soon, I'll be very busy with packing (lousy at it) and another typical moving stuff. My poor fiance will have a bad time (I guarantee it) in helping me packing my what-he-called-useless-garbage stuff. I love that stuff. Let it go :D

So if you want to donate boxes or give me tips on how to move to another country effectively, just shoot. I'll hear ya...

Hamilton snatches glory

I just knew this afternoon, after my boyfriend, the 'crazy-f1-biggest-fans' told me that Hamilton won the world champion after a tense-dramatic-last lap, when he finally overtook Glock and crossed the line at fifth. And that making him the youngest world champion in history. My friend even said that Massa was crying.
Hamilton, still behind Glock when Massa finished his lap, but Glock didn't change his tyres even though the rain was falling, and that help open Hamilton's chance to win the title.

Sorry guys, can not understand this euphoria.
For me, it's just a wasting fuel, money, and dangerous non-sport.

Nikko Kas Manajemen - Pasar Uang

Yesterday I just signed an agreement to move my Nikko Kas Manajemen Pasar Uang into Nikko Dana Terproteksi. They (the bank and Nikko) said that Nikko Dana Terproteksi is safer and a better choice if I don't intend to use my money in a short term.

Basically, the biggest advantage by moving into Nikko Dana Terproteksi is that Nikko won't invest our money into new obligation. So, all we need to do is just wait until any obligation is due and then Nikko will redeem our investment proportionally and automattically. The biggest downside is we can not redeem our money anytime we want. So, if you need your money now, don't choose this option.

They also offered you to stay in your current investment. This means that they (Nikko) will buy new obligation with your money and God knows when the obligation will go up again. But in the bright side, you can redeem your investment at anytime you want as long as total today's redeemption is lower than 20% of Nikko's Asset. Just make sure if you want to redeem, do it first thing in the morning okay folks.
