Rotten Tomatoes, Walking With Series & Dirty Jobs

Sigh...
It's been too long since I've updated this blog. Kecian bener nih blog.
The reason is simple. I don't know what to write...
No "blog worthy" events happened lately, but today I'm trying to write something that hopefully worthy enough for you.

1. rotten tomatoes.
Has anybody ever heard about this website? Well, I knew this website for quite sometime but rarely visit it. Within this site you can find movie critics and review and the good news is (for me at least) that "ehm...ehm.. kyknya selera kita sama bokkk!" Based on the statistic 64.5% of my fave movies are Certified Fresh, 12.9% are Fresh and only 22.6% are Rotten (only??? hahaha)

Duh biasanya dulu di kost pasti d selera film gue paling beda sendirian. I've always been "the geek". So, I'm very very excited ternyata gue tidak sendirian hohoho!

2. Walking with Series
Nyambung soal ke-geek-an soal selera film, belum lama ini secara tidak sengaja turn-on the national geographic channel and ntn "Walking with Monster" yang ternyata merupakan bagian dari "Walking with..." series and I've been obsessed with it after since!

Walaupun my hubby ngorok dengan damainya pas ntn film ini, tapi buat gue ini film TOP BGT untuk memuaskan ke-geek-an gue. Jadi selesai ntn sibuklah cari2 di internet buat filmnya dan ternyata ada di youtube (dooh I'm so happy)

The complete list of Walking with... series are (based on movie chronology):
1. Walking with Monsters
2. Walking with Dinosaurs
3. Walking with Beasts
4. Walking with Cavemen

and I watched all of them. Even though the special effect is not extra-ordinary, but I don't care. I love the knowledge I gained after watching it and knowing how stupid I was before.

3. I love Peter Schmeichel and I'm so excited to see his series called "Dirty Jobs". In this series he's doing all of the dirty job including peeling off cow's head skin, cleaning up the pig's "house" etc, etc. I know it's gross but believe me after watching it, you'll appreciate your job better (temporarily perhaps but still you will, trust moi)

oh before I forget, 24 just kicked of a new season (season 8). Can't wait to see Mr. Bauer in action ;)

Potato Salad Ala Me

Potato Salad

Ingridients:
3 Mini potatoes
2 eggs
Corn (optional)
Cheddar cheese (optional)
Thousand islands

Tar-tar sauce
Mayonnaise (optional)

Instructions:
1. Peel potatoes (duh, isn't obvious?) chop into cubes neatly (you want all the cubes within the same or at least similar size)
2. Boil potatoes until soft enough (remember not to soft or your salad will become muddy and yucky).
3. Drain potatoes; put in the refrigerator at least an hour.
4. Hard boil eggs, peel, chopped, put in the refrigerator at least an hour
5. Mix together potatoes and eggs with the dressing, taste, grater the cheese, mix it together.
6. Ready to server

For 2 persons

Notes:
1. I'm using Kraft’s coleslaw and thousands islands dressing, both of them are quite sour so I put a bit only.
2. Tar-tar sauce can be substituted with mayonnaise but you won't get tar-tar unique taste.

Review TBS: Vit C Time Capsule, MMU Foundation and 3 in 1 Corn Blue Mask

What a long title :P

Okay girls, here we go:

1. Vitamin C Plus Time Release Capsules
Even though I already reviewed this product before, but it was a very brief review since it's only based on 1 sample *duuh*. So after stupid incident (read: swimming at 4 PM) that caused my skin to look duller and flakier than ever, combine with the perfect timing of TBS promotion, I finally bought my first jar. Hurray! And last nite was my 3rd day I've been using this capsule and I love every single day of it.

The serum-like potion (correct me if I'm wrong) literally glides on my skin when I applied it, and it is non sticky nor greasy. It's absorbed quickly as it touches my skin and that left my face with clean-light-yet-smooth-silky feeling.

The smell is also acceptable, it smells like an essence of mandarin orange. Well not as good as that but it's close enough. I honestly can not think the perfect example to describe the smell. And the bonus point is my skin feels (significantly) less oily in the morning. Woohooo!!! Even though the sales girl said that she affraid that the vit c might be too rich for my oily skin since that happens with my Vit C moisturiser, it proved otherwise for this product.

And after 3 days my skin feels silkier, smoother and moist. The flaky skin on my cheek is almost gone (Yiippiee...)

Highly recommend this product. Luv it.

2. Blue Corn 3-in-1 Deep Cleansing Scrub Mask
Last weekend as one of my 'kalap' attempt to restore my skin condition I tried this 3 in 1 mask. First I washed my face with Seaweed facial wash, dried it with small towel and then I started applying and scrubing it with circle motion all over my face and leave it for a while.

After around 15 mins, the mask started to harden, so I prepared my wash cloth and soaked it on warm water before using it to remove the mask.

I dont know whether my skin is very healthy or too much oily, however after the mask was removed even though I felt my face clean, I still saw a glimpse of shine on my forehead. And oh the good thing is after I removed the mask, I felt there was additional candle-ly layer protecting my skin. So I guess the mask does moisture my skin.

The only downside is the smell. Jeezz..... for me it's kind of a mixture of sandal wood and other Mustika-Ratu or Sari Ayu mask. But I bear with it.

3. Nature’s Minerals™ Foundation SPF25
Okay, this is tricky.
It could be because I am a newbie so I don't understand how to apply it properly, or because my skin is too oily or because I apply too little amount of the foundation. However after I applied it on top of my moizturizer, I can not see the different at all :D **hmm perhaps my moizturizer is too oily or I dont leave it enough time to be absorbed because I already late as usual**. So I apply another coat of loose powder on top of it and then I can see the wonder.

The foundation helps my loose powder blends or stays better with my skin and give way better coverage (tampak rata tapi ga medok) and yet feels very light like I dont wear any foundation at all. And until now (almost 6 hours after I applied it) my face is not as oily as it used to be. I'm not sure whether this is the result of the MMU foundation or the time capsule Vit C or the 3 in 1 mask. As I told you before 'kalap nih kalaappp'

Overall I'm quite satisfied with the product but since my face need additional coat of loose powder duuuhh bengkak dong budget gue ...sigh...

TBS Skin Care and Make Up Haul

Since my two 20% off discount coupons (one for the make up product and one for skin care product) expired yesterday so I decided to give my self a tour on TBS, see whether I can make a good use for these coupons.

It turned out TBS is holding a promotion for the Vitamin C Skin Care range.
Vitamin C Plus Time Release Capsules is on special price for 29.90 (UP:42.90). While buy any 2 products of Vitamin C you'll get 25% off and buy any 3 you'll get 30% off.

So forgive me God for I have sinned....

1. Vitamin C Plus Time Release Capsules
An innovative time release system that provides the skin with pure vitamin C. Helps to even out skin tone, brighten a dull complexion and protect from environmental damage, leaving the skin radiant-looking over time. Suitable for daily use.

2.Tea Tree Oil Facial Wash
Cleansing gel that lathers to gently cleanse, lift impurities and make-up while helping to control shine and blemishes, leaving the skin feeling clean and fresh. Deep cleanses to remove dirt and makeup while allantoin soothes skin.

3. Nature’s Minerals™ Foundation SPF25
Long-lasting powder foundation made from the purest minerals. The powders act like a protective veil to naturally defend the skin against sun damage with SPF 25. Applies evenly and blends easily for a radiant, natural-looking complexion. Non pore-clogging. Colour builds easily to provide an adjustable light to medium coverage. Effectively reduces the appearance of redness, imperfections, blemishes and visible pores. Preservative-free, fragrance-free. Dermatologically tested, non-comedogenic.

Pssstt.. the sales girl told me it doesn't clog the pore.
I tried this product this morning and except for thinking the lid is way too small for my kabuki brush, I still don't have anything to report.

3. Blue Corn 3-in-1 Deep Cleansing Scrub Mask
A 3-in-1 mask that deeply cleanses, exfoliates and moisturizes the skin in one easy step. It leaves the skin feeling clean, smooth and balanced.

Once upon a time there was a stupid girl who couldn't control herself not to splash into the pool on a very sunny day. As a result her face skin is flaking on some spots. Sigh.
The sales girl told me that before applying mask, it is better to have your skin exfoliated first. That way the mask will penetrate your skin better.

Since I don't have an exfoliate scrub, she suggested me to buy this mask so I can use it as an exfoliate scrub and after leave it for a while, and voila... it will turn into a mask

H1N1 at Singapore

Experts warn that outbreak is only at an early stage

A SCIENTIFIC committee tasked with examining data on H1N1 flu patients here is agreed on one thing: Things are going to get much worse.

And going by the latest numbers released last night, Singapore's H1N1 curve is heading up rapidly, with 95 new patients, the highest number so far. This brings the total to 315.

Nightspot Butter Factory had 10 more staff and patrons down with the flu, making it the biggest cluster of infections, with 21 cases so far. The Health Ministry said last night it had yet to complete investigating how 48 of the 95 new cases caught the bug.

The sharp increase appears to confirm the conclusions of the team headed by the Health Ministry's director of medical services K. Satku that Singapore is 'past the tipping point'.

Signs are that the flu season, which should have been tapering off around this time of year, will return with a vengeance. And over recent days, more flu cases have been of the H1N1 variety.

This happened in the United States too. Its flu season should have ended, except for H1N1 fuelling a drastic spike in the number of flu patients, now in the thousands, with deaths occurring regularly.

Doctors on the panel yesterday made it clear that Singapore was not over-reacting in its response to the pandemic, even though H1N1 has proven mild so far.

The big question now is, what happens when the numbers surge? Said Dr Lim Poh Lian, a senior consultant at the Communicable Disease Centre (CDC): 'When the numbers go into the thousands, we will see people coming down sick, who might need ventilator support and who might die.'

A reason for caution: Doctors and scientists have had only two months to examine the nature of H1N1, and while the Genome Institute of Singapore found that it has mutated only slightly, there is no telling how much it will change. Said Dr Lyn James, the ministry's director of communicable diseases: 'It is wiser not to underestimate the virus, because we are still in the early stages of the outbreak.'

Doctors have so far only examined about 200 patients, mainly young and healthy travellers. Once H1N1 circulates freely, it will also infect the elderly, pregnant women and others with various health problems. Said Prof Satku: 'We must remember that we have vulnerable individuals who have a higher risk of flu complications.

'Let's look after them too, by ensuring that we do not inadvertently expose them to infection.'

CDC head Dr Leo Yee Sin said she is worried because the population mix is different from the H1N1 patients seen so far.

'I worry about how it will affect this group of older folks and immuno-compromised patients,' she said.

SSoTD: Swine flu could be man-made

Quoting from Strait Times

JAKARTA - INDONESIAN Heath Minister Siti Fadilah Supari said on Tuesday the deadly swine flu virus could have been man-made, as she urged calm over its spread around the world.

The controversial minister did not elaborate but in the past she has said Western governments could be making and spreading viruses in the developing world to boost pharmaceutical companies' profits.

'I'm not sure whether the virus was genetically engineered but it's a possibility,' she told reporters at a press conference called to reassure the public over the government's response to the swine flu threat.

No cases of the disease have been reported in Indonesia, the country worst hit by the bird flu virus which has killed about 250 people worldwide since 2003.

Indonesian authorities have increased body temperature scanners at airports and banned imports of live pigs and pork products, amid World Health Organisation (WHO) warnings of a pandemic.

Ms Supari, a cardiologist, also claimed that the H1N1 strain of swine flu, which is believed to have killed more than 150 people in Mexico, could not survive in tropical countries like Indonesia.

'We have to be alert at all times although swine flu in Indonesia is not a cause for panic,' she said. 'H1N1 survives in countries with four seasons. The type A H1N1 virus hopefully won't be able to sustain itself once it enters the tropical climate of Indonesia.'

The virus has been found in 11 countries including Mexico, the United States and Spain, while several other countries from Colombia to New Zealand are investigating suspected cases.

Ms Supari said the health ministry had prepared 100 hospitals to handle swine flu cases should the disease enter Indonesia.

The minister has refused since 2006 to share all but a handful of Indonesia's bird flu virus samples with WHO researchers, saying the system is being abused by rich countries to develop profitable vaccines which poor countries must buy. -- AFP

Why is it classified as SSoTD:

1. She probably watch 24 season 7 a bit too much or she might be the writer and H1N1 is indeed the bio-weapon tested in Sanggala by Colonel Ike Dubaku. Dear minister, please I'm begging you, who made this virus is not important anymore, the question is what are your actions to stop it from spreading and how to cure the one infected.

2. The type A H1N1 virus hopefully won't be able to sustain itself once it enters the tropical climate of Indonesia.' --> Is she expecting that once the viruses are on Indonesia Territorial, they all just die because of the antiviral so called 'tropical climate' floating all over it?

Hari Menggenaskan

Today I go to my office after spending 2 days lying on my precious bed from fever+cold+cough.
And apparently my sufferings are not enough, because today, I was forced to eat new food I never hear let alone eat before and oh God do I have a hard time finding words to describe it.

the first one is a bit hard, a bit salty and very very very very spicy food. pertama kali langsung kepikiran "what the hell is this?"
**mo muntah ga enak didepan yang ngasih ntar tersinggung gw repot**

and the last one is a bit sweet and very minty...and then after i told the owner of the food about the minty flavor, he said 'yeah yeah it is from camphor leaf, I think it's the same family with mint leaf'
okay i don't know whether CAMPHOR is the right word but I swear to you he sounded like 'KAMPER'. You know 'kamper' right? kabur barus gichu?
Apparently kamper is made from somekind of tree and he reassured me that it is not the same with Naphthalene aka KAPUR BARUS bulet2 itu after I told him in Indonesia we use KAMPER to be hanged inside the cupboard to prevent undesireable odor and insects.

Okay sir, how am I suppose to know all of the tree family? who do you think I am? dandelion?
and OMG I just ate 'kamper' oh la laaa.... NOOOOO........ so I use my sore throat as an excuse when he offering some more and he said 'You know what, actualy KAMPER is very good for sore throat"

Mati gue... diem seribu bahasa... memelas, merapal segala doa, berharap dikasihani dan dilepaskan dari tragedi ini....

Tiger Airways: Always 45 minutes late.

In this post I'm gonna write a review about the new airlines TIGER AIRWAYS.
This review is based on my personal experience with TIGER AIRWAYS on 4 & 6 April 2009.

Instead of writing a long narrated review, I'm gonna write the review in pro-cons format:

Pro:
1. Very-very affordable.
2. New airplanes and clean. Bright.
3. Got ferrero rocher (my choco fave) on my trip back to Indonesia.
4. The stewardess are helpful.
5. Very energetic and cheerfull pilot.

Cons:
1. Got delayed twice (from sin - jkt, and jkt - sin). The delay was around 45 mins, which I find it very inconsistent with one of their tips to the passengers. One of their tip is requesting the passenger to be on time so their can be on time. See image below:

2. Just landed airplane was used right away for the next flight. The passengers were literally waiting the plane to land, see the people coming out with their own eyes before boarding into the same plane.
3. Fill in the aftur (bensinnya pesawat bener ga sih nulisnya?) while some of the passengers are already inside the airplane.
4. Got unpleasant sound which I dont know how to describe it but I'm gonna try it anyway. The sound was like 'rrrrrrr rrrrrrrr rrrrr rrrngnngnrr' every time when the engine turn on and off. And yes the sound was loud and took quite some times before it was gone.
5. Located at Budget Terminal (Still in Changi but OMG so different with the other terminal see my other post about it)

Will I fly with Tiger again?

The answer might be yes and might be no. Depend on the budget.
But overall the airlines is quite okay for me. No scary and traumatic experience. I will recomend this airlines for those with limited budget and able to make some compromises. But I will definetely warn them about the unusual sound.

Singapore Budget Terminal: I DO NOT enjoy the difference

Budget Terminal **sigh**

Based on the name we (and by we I mean me, my mom and my fiance) already expected to make some compromises, but since the cheap ticket is very alluring plus the assumption that it is still a Singapore Airport how 'budgeted' the terminal could be??

1. The environment and atmosphere is so (and by so I mean HUGE) different with other terminal. No fancy lighting, no fancy store just a plain terminal.
2. Saw several flies at restaurant area (ihiks)
3. No enough chairs (only 5-10 chairs, I mean come on, mana muat massss?? emangnya pesawatnya pesawat pertama Wright bersodara??) in the boarding room.
4. No trunks (siapkan betis anda memanjat tangga ke pesawat)
5. Short distance to imigration and baggage claim. In the positive side: fast imigration process, while the downside is the imigration process is too fast so we have to wait for our baggages.

Well in their defense, they are still renovating. They put a lot of posters about changing from caterpilar into butterfly, which I don't and will never understand what is the beauty of it (read: butterfly, a should have been extinct animal)
Hopefully, once the renovation and development are finished, the terminal can live up to their motto "ENJOY THE DIFFERENCE" cause now, I DON'T ENJOY THE DIFFERENCE

Note: I flew with Tiger Airways. My review about it can be read here

PS: When I depart to Jakarta the imigration officer is very dedicated. He 'scanned' my face (with his eyes of course) and match it with the passport photo. And by scan, I mean he held my passport book with his left hand, put his right hand on top my of photo, covering my face start from my nose under and make sure I have the same eyes, then move his hand a bit lower, make sure whether I have the same nose, and so on and so on. He even make his finger moves likes 'drawing' my face on top of my passport photo. No wonder the queue behind me was as long as 'ULAR NAGA' hihihi :D

Prewedding Book

Finally, I got my pre-wed book. (walau sempet ddg keambil ga ya aduh takut ditinggal pesawat)
Hehehe...
In my opinion, the color is nice, eventhough a bit different with what displayed on my laptop screen.

PS: I designed some of the pages.. hehehe.

Read between the line: You can order your wedding book design from me with fantastic price aka terima pesanan design wedding book. Ayo ayo order ke gue! hahaha

Setiap hentakan langkah kecilku....

Once upon a time
I turned the TV on and switch the channel to KBS
The show was already starting halfway
It's about creative ways people found to save energy

The main focus was Japan
The land of creative peoples
One used black bottles as a solar panel to turn on the radio and water heater
The others used an electric mini car that only need to be charged and then you set to go
They even have a famous bridge cause it produces electricity
But what amazed me more
is when they reported that our steps can be converted into electric energy because the vibration sensor they put under

And now..
it seems I can't stop wondering
in an island where my shoes suffer the most (jalan trus...)
how many kwh can I produce
from every little step i take

American Idol 8: Fave performances

Each week, most of the time I have my favorite performance. These favorite performances might be not the may be not the greatest vocal but somehow the performance leave a mark in me. For example, I still can not forget Michael John's performance on Hollywood week when he sang bohemian rhapsody. Usually I'm gonna download these performances and save it in my precious fufu so I can play it over and over again hehehe...

Here they are:

1. Adam Lambert - Satisfaction (Group 1)
2. Adam Lambert - Black or White (Top 13, Michael Jackson's Night)
3. Anoop Desai - Always on My Mind (Top 11, Country Night)
4. Adam Lambert - Tracks of My Tears (Top 10, Motown Night)

American Idol 8: Top 10

Okay Motown Night!
Bring it on.....

Name : Matt Giraud
Song : “Let’s Get it On”
My thought: Good performance. I love the end part. Not to crazy about the song.
Score: 7/10

Name : Kris Allen
Song : “How Sweet it Is”
My thought: Another surprising performance from Kris the man! yeah! Good not great.
Score: 7/10

Name : Scott MacIntyre
Song : ”You Can’t Hurray Love”
My thought: I love the beginning. Maybe the first 2 lines and hate the rest. I thought it was karaoke and has pitchy problem. For the vocal, Scott was way better last week.
Score: 5/10

Name : Megan Corkrey
Song : “For Once in My Life”
My thought: A 110 percent agree with the judges. It was pitchy, some of the notes are too low while others too high. But the good news is she is very pretty except for the tattoo. Haiyoo laser it off girl!. and dont get me started with the dance moves. I thought it was horrible than the usual.
Score: 4/10

Name : Anoop Desai
Song : “Ohh Baby Baby”
My thought: great vocal but boring.
Score: 7/10

Name : Michael Sarver
Song : “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg”
My thought: Smokey said this song is about a guy begging his girl not to leave. but the way he sang it, it's like he's celebrating his girl leaving! what a weird interpretation. absolutely hate it. yes i do hold personal grudge, because i prefer ricky brady over him! poor ricky!!!!!
Score: 5.5/10

Name : Lil Rounds
Song : “Heatwave”
My thought: the dress compliments her while the hair is not :D. Good okay performance not great. I still dont understand about 'THE best singer ever found' I think there are a lot of other previous contestants who has similar type with lil such as Melinda do Little, Lakisha, Paris, Jennifer Hudson.
Score: 7/10

Name : Adam Lambert
Song : “Tracks of my Tears”
My thought: It was a stop eating hot! fantastic performance. I fell in love with the song instantly. Completely in different league. One of my favorite performance in this season.
Btw, I hate the hair comb!!!
Score: 9/10

Name : Danny Gokey
Song : “Get Ready”
My thought: I'm still drooling over adam's performance so for me danny's performance was just okay. not surprising, not bad just okay
Score: 7/10

Name : Allison Iraheta
Song : “Papa was a Rolling Stone”
My thought: the girl can sing! i think i enjoy her performance more with my eyes closed. She's just looks like 30/40 years old.
Score: 8/10

Top 3: Adam, Adam, Adam... kidding Adam, Allison and I can not decide the 3rd person.
Bottom 3: Megan, Michael, Scott
Pick to go home: Michael but probably Megan.
